Amick played in just a handful of games as a freshman with Clemson in 2022, then broke out in 2023 with a .413/.464/.773 slash line and 13 home runs as the team’s first baseman and DH. Amick became one of the most high-profile transfers in the country following the season and joined Tennessee to help power one of the most potent offenses in the country in 2024, all while moving across the infield to play third base every day. Amick is a powerfully built, 6-foot-1, 217-pound righthanded hitter with fierce bat speed and a clean path through the zone with a slight uppercut that creates plenty of fly balls. He has a simple setup with minimal movement—and he also features a spread-out stance and no leg kick in two-strike counts—but Amick has a solidly power-over-hit offensive profile. He’s done a nice job managing his strikeout rate and keeping it under 20% in back-to-back seasons, though he has below-average pure contact skills and will expand the zone at times. Most of his home run damage comes to his pull side, though he has more than enough raw power to homer to all fields with great extension and massive homers when everything is synced up. Previously expected to be limited to first base, Amick has done an admirable job at third base this spring. He’s unlikely to win any Gold Gloves, but he’s at least given himself a chance to stick at the position with solid arm strength, adequate hands and below-average speed.

Amick logged just 19 at-bats as a true freshman in 2022, but exploded in 2023 to the tune of an eye-popping .413 average with 17 doubles, 13 home runs, and 63 RBI in 46 games. A righthanded hitter with a 6-foot-1, 220-pound frame, Amick has a simple setup at the plate with a minimal load, but has serious strength in his forearms and really gets the barrel moving through the strike zone. He consistently extends well through the baseball, which enables him to drive the ball with authority to all fields. After spending his first two seasons with Clemson he transferred to Tennessee for the 2024 season where he figures to be the team’s everyday third baseman.
